Lake Manitoba Narrows Game And Fish Ice Fishing Derby Results

We are thrilled to share the results of our Ice Fishing Derby and extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our incredible volunteers and fisher-friends who generously donated to our derby!!

Despite the challenging weather conditions, we were overwhelmed with an impressive 40 entries!!! 36 adults and 4 youth.

A total of 5 fish were caught!

3. Nash Vigfusson- 47 cm Jack

4. Rob Linklater- 40 cm Walleye

5. Lorie Gulay- 37 cm Jack

Every participant who showed up was rewarded with a prize!! We would like to extend a special thank you to Barry Alexiuk for his generous donation of Bomber gear and swag, as well as to Ian Phieffer (and his wife!!) for their monetary donation. Thanks to Clancy also for all the amazing donations he donated!!

Last but not least, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to our amazing volunteers!! It is because of their tireless efforts that events like this become a reality!! Kirk Paquette and Dani Paquette for picking up all the prizes. Clancy Solomon, Mike Kubas and Kirk for drilling holes. I was out checking the ice and snow situation. The RM of Ashern for doing a fantastic job plowing the parking lot and the road to it!! Mike for measuring fish and me keeping him in line!! Clancy for marking out the area!! Irv for letting us use his shack to measure fish in. Dani and I handled registration and Dani ensured that all the finances were in order!! We cannot forget our Secretary Colleen Flaherty, who played a vital role in planning, all the way from Mexico!! It is truly a collaborative effort!!
